the first of many fairy tales.

Once upon a time, in a boxy building far away from the skyscrapers of our present I stumbled into a lanky girl with straight blonde hair. She was much taller than I, though probably insignificantly.  At this time our boxy building’s basement was being bombarded by singing child boys from a near by, more oddly shaped, human receptacle.  These children had voices that evoked a deep-seated anger within both my new companion and me, for we had a common distaste for baseball hats and the clean shaven.  We escaped the basement to explore the boxes in this box which we were meant to inhabit.  We, along with another, foully mouthed companion, discovered medicine secretly stashed.  We consumed this medicine and our anger for the intrusion dissipated.

We continued to imbibe in the soothing comfort of this mysterious clear liquid.  We met a small, hooded figure in the willow trees smoking a pipe and she became our confidant.  We left our boxes and hid in the forest.  As the time passed, we encountered many other creatures inhabiting these woods as my original companion’s hair grew curly.  These creatures included a blind man who could make us see the reflections of prisms in the darkness and a mysterious visitor who taught us of mirrors and how to manipulate them without vanity.  Our minds were clear and open after years of wandering.  We had become a connected force, but soon we would be severed.

The binds of men had their holds on us, and we were forced to leave our forest lives.  We wandered streets and highways.  Unfamiliar and scared of sightlessness, we stumbled.  Each of us in our own world, yet connected to the forest through the vibrations of the air.  We shall find each other once more, hiding behind remarkable buildings meant for people we will never know. And our companions will join us, one by one, until we have grown a forest in this jungle of man.
